IGF-1 LR3, or Long R3 IGF-1, is an 83 amino acid analogue of human insulin-like growth factor 1. It carries an arginine substitution at position 3 and a thirteen residue N-terminal extension. Both modifications lower its affinity for IGF binding proteins, which is why this analogue is widely used in cell culture and growth signalling research.
